Wildcats' Singles Success Leads To A 4-3 Win Over Idaho State

Ogden, UT - The Weber State women's tennis team played their first home match this Friday afternoon against Idaho State. As the Cats' were unable to secure the doubles point, they made a comeback in singles earning the victory 4-3.
"I'm so proud of the composure of Yuuna Ukita and Megan Davies to come back and clinch the win," said head coach RuthAnn Allen. "It was great to be at home playing our first conference match this season. This was a hard-fought win."
Idaho State started the day with the 1-0 advantage after securing the doubles point in the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. On court two, Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies defeated Hana Cho and Angela Walker, 6-2.
Ana Morett Salas completed the first singles match of the day, decisively defeating Alexandra Arkhipov, 6-2, 6-3. On court 6, Sicely Ferreria continued her recent success in singles play, beating Angela Walker, 6-3, 6-3.
Yuuna Ukita in the No. 1 position secured the point in a three-set match, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2. Following her teammate's lead, Megan Davies in the No. 4 position had a tough battle against Sol O'lideadha but was able to clinch the win 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 to make the overall score 4-3 for the Wildcats.
The Wildcats return to conference play on April 9 against Dixie State.
