Weber State Defeats Azusa Pacific With A 5-2 Win

Azusa, CA - The Weber State men's tennis team won five of six singles matches Monday afternoon for a 5-2 victory over Azusa Pacific.

The Cougars grabbed the early advantage in doubles play securing the point in the No. 1 and No. 3 spots. Bo-Han Li and Michiel Van Schoor earned the victory in the No. 2 spot against Dylan Parsley and Ethan Smith 6-2.

Playing at No. 5 singles, Michiel Van Schoor was the first Wildcat to secure the point as he defeated his opponent 6-0, 6-2. Following his teammate's lead, Arthur Serafim defeated the Cougars Lee 7-5, 6-4 in the No. 3 position. Weber's next point came from the fourth court where Bo-Han Li earned the victory 7-5, 6-4. Overall the Wildcats went on to defeat the Cougars 5-2.

"Azusa is a very good team and played tough. I was happy with our effort today," said head coach Brad Ferreira.

The Cats' will continue their 2021 season on March 10th against UC Riverside.
