FLAGSTAFF, AZ - The Weber State Wildcats redeemed themselves against Northern Arizona on Monday, March 8th in Flagstaff, Arizona. The Wildcats came out victorious in a tough 3-1 battle against the Lumberjacks.
"This weekend was a true challenge of our merit," said women's head coach, Jeremiah Larsen. "Northern Arizona is a very good volleyball team and played great."
The Wildcats came out hard in the first set, going up early against the Lumberjacks and earning some hard-fought points. Weber State played good defense, and kept Northern Arizona to 17 points. The Wildcats took the set 25-17.
NAU gave WSU a harder time in the second set, and got out ahead of Weber State early. However, the Wildcats climbed their way back mid-set and the score stayed close until the end of the set. Though the 'Cats fought hard, the Lumberjacks took the second set 25-18.
The third and fourth sets proved to be close and tough battles between the no. 1 Wildcats and no. 2 Lumberjacks. The third set finished 25-20 for Weber State and the match moved into the fourth set. Both teams proved how badly they wanted the victory and the set went all the way to 30-28 before a winner was crowned. Weber State took the victory 3-1.
"I am proud of how our women responded today after a poor effort Sunday. What a huge win against a very good volleyball team."

The Wildcats will travel to Pocatello, Idaho to take on the Idaho State Bengals on Saturday, March 13th, and Sunday, March 14th.
