Wildcats Fall On The Road To Northern Arizona, 6-1

Flagstaff, AZ - WSU women's tennis saw a three-match win streak snapped in a 6-1 defeat at Northern Arizona on Saturday afternoon.
The Lumberjacks took an early lead in doubles play with Ellie Millard and Mimi Bland defeating Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas, 6-0.Â
Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies battled tight with Elinor Beazley and Gina Dittman but were defeated, 7-6. In the No. 3 position, Megan Lombardi and Pei-Husan Kuo lost to Madi Moore and Ava Neyestani, 7-6 in another close match.Â
The Lumberjacks carried the momentum earned in doubles play, winning five of the six singles contests. Kuo matched up with Beazley in the No. 5 match, but Beazley came away with the victory, 7-5, 6-3. Davies battled against Meyestani, but came up short, 6-4, 7-6.
Sicely Ferreira picked up WSU's first and only point of the day in a 6-3, 6-3 win over Madi Moore in the No. 6 position. Ferreira now sits at a five-streak win in singles play, and 10-4 overall.Â
