Ogden, UT - Weber State women's tennis ended their season with a 4-3 home win over Sacramento State Sunday.Â
"It was good to get the win today," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
"We got tight in a few sports and fortunately still came up with the win."Â
WSU's Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies were too much for the Hornet's Paige Alter and Tsveti Yotova, winning 6-0. The Wildcats' doubles dominance continued as Yuuna Ukita and Ana Morett Salas defeated Jayden Nielsen and Megan Tagaloa, clinching the doubles point. Megan Lombardi and Pei-Hsuan Kuo finished off the doubles sweep, beating Shauna Casey and Jin Yu, 6-3.Â
The Wildcats' singles teams picked up where the doubles teams left off with more dominant performances. Sicely Ferreira came out strong, beating Jin Yu, 6-0, 5-7, 6-0.Â
Ana Morett Salas followed, defeating Megan Tagaloa, 6-7, 6-0, 6-1.
Pei-Hsuan Kuo on court 5 earned Weber State their final point as she battled against Shauna Casey and came out on top, 6-1, 7-6.Â
"We are excited to qualify for the conference tournament," said Allen. "Our goal is to progress in each match, and it gives us another opportunity to do that."Â
