'Cats perform well at Bengal Invite

POCATELLO, ID - The Wildcats performed well at the Idaho State Bengal Invitational on April 16th and 17th in Pocatello, Idaho. "We had a great weekend up in Pocatello this weekend," said women's head coach, Paul Pilkington.Â
In the women's 100 meters, Emily Morgan-King took first place with a time of 11.83. Morgan-King also competed in the women's 200 meters and finished second, coming in at 24.36. Ashlynn Campos came in sixth with a time of 25.54.
In the women's 1500 meters, Rebekah Geddes finished in sixth place with a time of 4:44.77, and Bailey Winter finished in tenth with a time of 4:47.24.
Kate Sorensen competed well in the 100 and 400 hurdles. She finished third in the 100 meter hurdles, coming in with a time of 13.77. In the 400 meter hurdles, Sorensen earned first place with domination, crushing the stadium record with a time of 58.38 (converted). This is the second week in a row that Sorensen has broken a stadium record, and the time is ranked 24th in the NCAA, and first in the Big Sky Conference by four whole seconds.
Summer Allen shattered the stadium record in the women's 3000 steeplechase, coming in at 9:59 (converted) to win first place in her first steeplechase of the season. This time is ranked ninth in the NCAA and first in the Big Sky Conference. Bailey Wall performed well in the steeplechase, too. Wall finished in second place and broke her PR with a time of 10:18 (converted). This time is #3 in the Big Sky Conference and 40th in the NCAA.
Weber State 'A', made up of Andee Brown, Brittany Cardall, Shelby Andrewsen, and Ashlynn Campos finished third in the women's 4x400 relay. The team finished with a time of 3:54.45.Â
Paige Van Meeteren earned first place in the women's high jump, earning a 5-07 mark. This mark is a new personal best for Van Meeteren, and ranked first in the Big Sky Conference. Eden Deveraux and Aimee Chambers tied for sixth place with a 5-03 mark.
Kapua Pulotu performed well at the meet. She competed in the women's shot put and tied for third place with a 46-2.75 mark. In the discus, she earned third place with a 156-11 mark. This discus mark moves her into the fifth ranked spot on Weber State's all-time list. She is also ranked fourth in the Big Sky in the discus and shot put.Â
In the women's javelin, Liz Fink earned sixth place with a mark of 141-02, Marissa Schmidt earned eighth place with a mark of 139-04, and freshman Alyssa Hansen earned ninth with a 136-11 mark. Hansen moves into Weber State's all-time list with this performance in the javelin.
