Wildcats compete well at BYU Robison Invite

PROVO, UT - The Weber State women's track and field was well represented at the BYU Robinson Invitational from April 22 to the 24th. The meet was held in Provo, Utah at the Clarence F. Robison Track and Field Complex. 

"We had a really good meet," said head women's coach Paul Pilkington. "We had some records broken and some new all-time rankings."

In the women's 400 meters, Ashlynn Campos finished in 12th place with a time of 57.75. Shelby Andrewsen finished in 14th place with a time of 58.12, and Windsor Moore finished 23rd with a time of 1:00.33.

Kate Sorensen finished in first place in the women's 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.21. Andee Brown finished in seventh place with a time of 1:02.06.

In the women's 3,000 steeplechase, Bailey Winter finished in third place with a time of 11:23.49. 

"Weber State A" finished in third in the women's 4x100 meters with a time of 47.04. The group was made up of Amy Teal, Brianna Powell, Monnie Spears-Rogers, and Emily Morgan-King.

In the women's 4x400 meters, "Weber State A" finished in third place with a time of 3:44.88. The team was made up of Ashlynn Campos, Shelby Andrewsen, Emily Morgan-King, and Kate Sorensen.  "Weber State B" finished in ninth with a time of 3:56.24. This team was made up of Windsor Moore, Cheyenne Leatham, Rebecca Geddes, and Andee Brown.

In the women's one mile, Lexie Thompson finished in second place with a time of 4:43.70. This time converts to 4:48.17 at sea level, which is the fastest mile ever run by a WSU student-athlete on the women's team. The mile time converts to 4:17.53 in the 1500 that now leads the Big Sky Conference, is ranked 19th in the NCAA West Region, and earns the third place spot in the WSU all-time list. Billie Hatch finished in eighth place with a time of 4:55.66.

Kate Sorensen did well in the women's 100 meter hurdles, finishing in first place with a time of 13.62. Cidnee Davies-Bohn finished in fourth place with a time of 14.07. 

In the women's 100 meters, Emily Morgan-King finished in second place with a time of 11.61. 

Cheyenne Leatham finished in first place in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:10.51. Rebecca Geddes came in sixth place, finishing at 2:15.32. 

Morgan-King finished in second place in the women's 200 meters, crossing the finish line at a time of 23.93. Brittany Cardall finished in 11th place with a time of 25.04. 

Cidnee Davies-Bohn did well in the women's long jump, finishing in fifth place with a mark of 18-05.25. Talia Reza finished in seventh place with a 17-11.75 mark. 

In the women's high jump, Paige Van Meeteren finished in a tie for second place with a mark of 5-07.25. Van Meeteren currently is ranked second in the Big Sky Conference for high jump. Aimee Chambers finished in sixth place with a mark of 5-05.25, and Eden Deveraux finished in a tie for 10th with a mark of 5-03.50.

Kapua Pulotu finished in fourth place in the women's discus with a 157-05.75 mark. This mark puts Pulotu into the fifth spot on WSU's all-time list. Pulotu is currently ranked fourth in the Big Sky Conference rankings. 

In the women's hammer throw, Megan Larkins finished in fifth place with a mark of 177-11.50. This throw was close to Larkins' personal best, 180-02, which is ranked fourth on Weber State's all-time list. Deidre Wilson finished in eighth place with a mark of 164-01.25, Sophie Herbert finished 10th with a 161-03.50 mark, and Marissa Schmidt finished in 11th with a mark of 160-03.50. 

Alyssa Hansen earned a new PR in the women's javelin, earning a mark of 147-09.25. This mark puts her at #6 on the Weber State all-time list. Liz Fink found a new PR as well at 147-05.25 to earn the #7 spot on the WSU all-time list.

The 'Cats will head to Corvallis, Oregon to compete in the Oregon State Invitational from April 30th to May 1st.
