Records set in OSU High Performance Meet

Lexie Thompson sets school record in 5,000 meters.
OGDEN - Weber State sent some of its top runners to the Oregon State High Performance Meet Friday and Saturday in Corvallis, Ore., and the Wildcats came away with several record setting performances.Â
The Wildcat women had one school record, a stadium record, three titles and five spots on the all-time top 10 lists. Â
The record-settling season for Lexie Thompson continued as she set a new Weber State school record in the 5,000 meters. She shattered the school record by 22 seconds with a time of 15:37.34, to finish as the top collegiate finisher in the race. The time is also the second fastest in Big Sky Conference history. Thompson has set school records in the 5,000 and 10,000 meters this season.  Â
Billie Hatch finished 14th in the 5,000 meter race with a career best time of 16:28.32, which now ranks as the seventh fastest in school history.
Kate Sorensen took home two titles in the meet. She won the 400 meter hurdles and set a new stadium record with a seasonal best time of 58.17, currently the fastest in the Big Sky this season. She also won the title in the 100 meter hurdles at 14.02.Â
In the steeplechase, two Wildcats posted times in the top 10. Summer Allen finished third in the event with a career best time of 10:08.20, which ranks fifth in Weber State history. Right behind her was Bailey Wall who was fourth with a time of 10:12.39, the eighth best in WSU history. Both are now qualified for the NCAA first round meet.Â
Paige Van Meeteren claimed the title in the women's high jump with a mark of 5-08.50.Â
Cheyenne Leatham was sixth in the 1,500 meter invitational with a career best time of 4:26.22, which now ranks as the 10th fastest in school history. Rylie Lusk posted a time of 17:14.56 in the 5,000 meters.
The Wildcats have just one meet remaining before the Big Sky Championships. WSU will host the Weber State Twilight May 3-4 at Stewart Stadium.Â
Weber State will then host the conference championships May 12-15.Â
