After a dominating opening weekend of Big Sky play with wins over Portland State and Sacramento State, Weber State Wildcat Volleyball makes its way north to Montana for the first time in nearly two years to take on Montana State and Montana.
The Wildcats are currently riding a ten-game winning streak in conference play that dates back to last season, and Jeremiah Larsen's squad hope to keep the momentum rolling as they head to Montana.
WEBER STATE
-The Wildcats lead a closely contested all-time series against Montana State 41-38, including five straight victories over the Bobcats.
-In a series that dates back to 1980, Weber State trails the all-time series against Montana 35-48, despite having won five consecutive matches over the Griz.
-WSU extended its home winning streak to a school record 21 this last weekend with wins over Portland State and Sacramento State. The prior school record was 17 consecutive victories and was set in the 1988-1989 seasons.
-As a team, the Wildcats currently lead the Big Sky Conference in assists per set (11.64), kills per set (12.53), and aces per set (1.98).
-With another five service aces this last weekend, Dani Nay moved into a tie for first place in the nation with 34 total, and is in second place national in aces per set (.72).
-Rylin Adams is currently averaging four kills per set, which puts her in first place on the Big Sky Conference leaderboard.
-With the two wins this past weekend, Jeremiah Larsen currently has 99 career victories as a head coach.
-Neither school from Montana will make the trip to Ogden to play Weber State in the regular season.
MONTANA STATE
-The Bobcats were picked to finish fourth in the conference in the Big Sky Preseason coaches poll.
-MSU went 4-7 in out of conference play this season, including narrowly dropping a five-set thriller on the road at #7 Washington.
-With a team attack percentage of .219, Montana State has the second best attack percentage in the conference.
-The Bobcat block has been a formidable one this season. The team is averaging 2.31 blocks per set, and Emma Pence leads the Big Sky with 1.27 blocks per set.
MONTANA
-The Griz started the season with their best out of conference record in 16 years, going 5-5 prior to Big Sky play.
-Montana won the UND Classic which was the Grizzlies' first tournament win since 2005.
-The Griz boast a .225 attack percentage which leads the Big Sky Conference.
-Ellie Scherffius has been on fire this season, and has a .403 attack percentage which leads the entire conference.
