Wildcats Fall To Cougars

Ogden, UT - The Weber State men's tennis team had their first home match against the BYU Cougars this Saturday afternoon.

"We had a good match with BYU," said head coach Brad Ferreira. "We played some good doubles but did not pull it out."

In doubles play, Aurthur Serafim and Jordan Coutinho battled in the No. 1 spot against the Cougars Jack Barnett and Tennyson Whiting coming up short, 6-7. Tristan Sarap and Sebastian Buxman earned the victory in the No. 2 spot against their opponents Wally Thayne and Zach Fuchs, 6-4.

Going into singles play, Arthur Serafim was the single Wildcat to earn the point in the No. 1 spot against Jack Barnet, 6-4, 6-2.

"Everyone competed very well but not enough for today. BYU has some solid players so for us to play this close is very encouraging."

Next Up: The Wildcats head to Las Vegas, NV for a four-match weekend January 28-30.
