Wildcats Take A Tough 4-0 Loss On Day One Of The UNLV Tournament

Las Vegas, NV - The 'Cats played their first of four road matches against New Mexico State today at the UNLV Tournament held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Weber State struggled in singles play as Elyes Marouani, Arthur Serafim, and Bo-Han Li went unfinished and NM State took the 4-0 win.
"It was a disappointing day," said head coach Brad Ferreira. "I thought we competed well in a number of matches but just could not pull it out."
In doubles play, Jordan Coutinho and Matteo Savio were the only duo to defeat their opponents Martin Simecek and Itay Feigin at the No. 3 spot, 6-3. Bo-Han Li and Arthur Serafim came close in the No. 2 spot against Corey Clarke and Gijs Akkermans but fell short 6-7.
The Wildcats struggled in singles play as Arthur Serafim, Elyes Marouani, and Bo-Han Li went unfinished in the No. 2, 3, and 4 spots.
"New Mexico is always tough and we need to play well at all spots to win against them."
Next up: The Wildcats continue in the UNLV Tournament tomorrow against Hawaii at 10 AM and UC Riverside at 2 PM.
