Road trip concludes at Sacramento State Saturday

Wildcats have won five-straight and are 8-1 in Big Sky play.

• After a huge second half comeback and riding a five-game winning streak, the first-place Weber State Wildcats conclude their road trip Saturday night at Sacramento State. The Wildcats and Hornets will tipoff at 8 p.m. Pacific time (7 MT) from The Nest in Sacramento. The game will be televised on ESPN+ with Weber State radio broadcast on 103.1 FM "The Wave". • The Wildcats are 15-5 overall and are on top of the Big Sky standings at 8-1 following Thursday's 85-76 win at Northern Colorado. Weber State trailed by 10 points at halftime but started the second half on a 40-12 run to beat the Bears. The 'Cats shot 50 percent from the field and made 11 3-pointers. 

Dillon Jones had a career-night in Thursday's win with career-highs of 24 points and five 3-pointers. He was 7 of 13 from the field and 5 of 7 from 3-point range. He also pulled down 13 rebounds for his 11th double-double this season, tied for the seventh-most in the nation. Jones continues to lead the Big Sky and is 10th in the nation in rebounding at 10.3 per game. He is shooting 54.6 percent from the field.    

• All five starters scored in double figures in Thursday's win. JJ Overton added 17 points with five rebounds and four steals. Koby McEwen had 15 points with five assists. Seikou Sisoho Jawara added 14 points with three assists and three steals and Dontay Bassett had 10 points and six rebounds.   

• Weber State leads the Big Sky in field goal percentage at 47.5 percent. The Wildcats are 15-0 this season when leading their opponent in field goal percentage and 0-5 when trailing. The Wildcats have shot 50 percent or better nine times, including the last three games, and are 9-0 in those games. WSU is also sixth in the country in free throw attempts with 446 this season, an average of 22.3 per game. WSU is also seventh nationally in free throws made with 325, an average of 16.3 per game. The 'Cats are first in the Big Sky and 21st in the nation in turnover margin at +4.3.

• Sac State is second in the league in 3-point field goal defense and third in scoring defense and steals. 

• WSU holds a 44-10 series lead over Sacramento State and the Wildcats have won three of the last four, including two games in Sacramento last year. WSU is 20-8 all-time in Sacramento. 

• Weber State is in a stretch of six games in a 13-day span. After three games on the road this week, the Wildcats will have three games at home next week, beginning Monday night against Eastern Washington.
