'Cats win sixth straight with 79-59 victory over Hornets

Weber State remains on top of the Big Sky standings at 9-1.
SACRAMENTO - Weber State finished a three-game road trip and won its sixth-straight game with a 79-59 win at Sacramento State Saturday night at the Nest.
Weber State improved to 16-5 overall and remained on top of the Big Sky standings at 9-1, halfway through the regular season schedule.
How it happened
The Hornets led early before a 13-0 run, including three 3-pointers gave Weber State a 22-14 lead with 7:06 to play. The 'Cats closed the first half on an 8-1 run and led 40-25 at halftime as the Wildcats shot 64 percent from the field in the first half.
The Hornets cut the lead to five points with 12:45 to play before a 10-5 run gave the Wildcats a 10-point lead.
The 'Cats had a 10-0 run later in the half and led by 18 points with 5:46 to play and never looked back.
Key numbers
Weber State shot better than 50 percent from the field for the fourth straight game as the Wildcats finished at 58.3 percent. Weber State knocked down 12 3-pointers and was 11 of 14 from the free throw line.
The Wildcats also outrebounded the Hornets 33-22 and had 15 assists and six blocked shots.
Four Wildcats scored in double figures led by JJ Overton with 18 points. He was 7 of 11 from the field and had six rebounds, three blocks and two assists.
Dontay Bassett added 17 points, with 15 points coming in the first half. He was 6 of 7 from the field and knocked down three 3-pointers.
Koby McEwen also had 17 points and dished out five assists, while Seikou Sisoho Jawara had 13 points with three 3-pointers and had four assists and two steals.
Dilllon Jones did not score but pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds and dished out four assists.
