Wildcats return home to host Eagles Monday

Weber State is first in the Big Sky and has won six straight games.
• After winning three games last week on the road, the first-place Weber State Wildcats return home to open a three-game homestand starting Monday night against Eastern Washington. The Wildcats and Eagles will tipoff at 7 p.m. at the Dee Events Center. The game will be televised on ESPN+ with Weber State radio broadcast on 103.1 FM "The Wave". • The Wildcats are 16-5 overall and are on top of the Big Sky standings at 9-1, halfway through the Big Sky standings. Weber State is coming off three wins on the road last week at Southern Utah, Northern Colorado and Sacramento State.
• The Wildcats shot 58 percent from the field in Saturday's win and have shot 50 percent or better in four straight games. Weber State leads the Big Sky and is 27th in the nation in field goal percentage at 48 percent. The Wildcats are 16-0 this season when leading their opponent in field goal percentage and 0-5 when trailing. The Wildcats have shot 50 percent or better 10 times and are 10-0 in those games. WSU is also sixth in the country in free throw attempts and seventh nationally in free throws made. The 'Cats are second in the BSC in scoring offense, scoring margin, steals and turnover margin.
• Four Wildcats scored in double figures in Saturday's win led by JJ Overton with 18 points. Dontay Bassett added 17 points with three 3-pointers. He is averaging 13.6 points per game over the last five games. Koby McEwen also had 17 points and is third in the Big Sky in scoring. Dillon Jones did not score in Saturday's win after 24 points on Thursday. However, he pulled down 13 rebounds and continues to lead the Big Sky and is 11th in the nation in rebounding at 10.4 per game.
• Eastern Washington is first in the Big Sky in field goal defense, 3-point defense and assists, and ranks second in 3-pointers per game, free throw percentage, rebounds and rebounding margin.
• WSU holds a 49-27 all-time series lead over Eastern Washington but the Eagles have won the last three games. The two teams did not play last year, as the two games were canceled. In games in Ogden, Weber State is 30-8 all-time but Eastern Washington has won the last three and four of the last five games at the Dee Events Center.
• Weber State is in a stretch of six games in a 13-day span. After Monday, the Wildcats will host Montana Thursday and Montana State on Saturday. Both schools are currently 8-1 in Big Sky play.
