CHENEY, Wash. – Weber State volleyball won its third consecutive match on Thursday evening by sweeping the Eastern Washington Eagles 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-13).
Weber State trailed early in the set with the score at 5-4, but the pendulum quickly turned in favor of the Wildcats. Kills from Makayla Sorensen and Baylee Bodily in addition to an Eagles error gave the Wildcats a four-point run and a lead that EWU never came close to surpassing. With the Weber State offense humming and Kate Standifird setting the ball to an array of hitters, WSU ran away with the first set at 25-14.
The second set was significantly more competitive as the Eagles held a lead for large portions of the frame. Weber State led at 10-9, but EWU came storming back with a six-point run to take the teams to the media timeout. Out of the timeout, Weber State rattled off four points in a row, highlighted by Dani Richins' 145th career service ace. Later on in the set the 'Cats had another extended run to take a lead at 20-19, and proceeded to score five of the set's last six points, including three kills from Richins who was in vintage form. Weber State's 25-21 set victory gave the 'Cats a 2-0 lead in the match.
Weber State controlled the final set from the service line with five aces, three of which came from Bodily's right hand, and the Wildcats controlled the set throughout. Three kills each from Richins and Brielle Rueckert, and WSU couldn't be stopped. The 'Cats took the third set and finished off the sweep with a 25-13 set victory.

QUOTABLES
"I was just thinking of bringing some intensity to the team and what we've talked about for the last couple of weeks. A good way to do that is to serve hard and focus on those to get the rally started. I think that we have decided to be really drilled in on our focus and intensity and using those to push us in the right direction. Having our purpose behind us has helped us to get to where we are now but we still have a lot more to go." - Emma Mangum
"I am really happy for our team. Eastern Washington is a nice volleyball team, and we were able to put together a consistent effort." – Jeremiah Larsen
