Weber State drops second-straight game 75-67 at Eastern Washington

The Eagles closed the game on a 15-2 run. Wildcats on the road at Idaho Saturday afternoon.

CHENEY, Wash. - Eastern Washington closed the game on a 15-2 run over the last four minutes to hand Weber State its second-straight loss as the Eagles beat the Wildcats 75-67 Thursday night. 

The loss drops Weber State to 18-7 overall and 11-3 in Big Sky play, now in second place in the conference standings. 

How it happened 
Eastern Washington jumped out to a 12-point lead at 22-10 early in the game. The Wildcats rallied back and tied the game in the closing minute before a 3-pointer by the Eagles gave EWU a 37-34 lead at halftime. 

The Eagles led by 10 with 15:25 to play, before a 9-0 Weber State run cut the lead to one. The Wildcats took the lead at 58-56 with 6:41 to play. 

Weber State went up 65-60 with 3:52 to play before a 13-0 run over the next three minutes gave the Eagles a 73-65 lead with 36 seconds left. Dillon Jones made two free throws but that was all the scoring by the Wildcats in the last four minutes. 

Key numbers
Weber State committed 17 turnovers, which EWU turned into 21 points. It's the second-most turnovers by the Wildcats in a game this season. 

Both teams shot 44 percent from the field and Weber State made nine 3-pointers, compared to eight for the Eagles. 

Seikou Sisoho Jawara was the standout player for the Wildcats as he scored a game-high 24 points and knocked down a career-high six 3-pointers. He was 9 of 14 from the field, including 6 of 7 from 3-point range. He also had five rebounds and two steals. 

Dontay Bassett added 13 points with five rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals. Koby McEwen had 12 points, with 10 coming in the second half. He also dished out four assists. Dillon Jones had eight points and pulled down 12 rebounds, to go along with three steals.

Weber State will stay on the road and head to the University of Idaho for a Saturday afternoon game in Moscow. The game will tipoff at 3 p.m. Mountain time.
