Weber State rolls to 73-49 win at NAU

WSU led the entire game and picked up 20th win of the season.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Weber State never trailed and got back on the winning track with a dominating 73-49 win at Northern Arizona Saturday afternoon.
The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Wildcats and gave WSU its 20th win of the season. The Wildcats are now 20-10 overall and 13-6 in Big Sky play with just one conference game remaining.
With a win, Weber State also clinched a bye into the quarterfinals of the Big Sky Tournament.
How it happened
Weber State led wire-to-wire and jumped out to an 11-2 lead early in the game.
The 'Cats had a 10-0 run and led 26-13 with eight minutes to play in the half. NAU responded with an 11-0 run and cut the lead to 27-24 but the Wildcats closed the half on a 7-0 run and led 35-27 at halftime.
WSU started the second half on a 14-5 run. WSU then had a 7-0 run and led by 25 points with 9:31 to play. NAU was never closer than 19 points the rest of the way.
Key numbers
Weber State shot 55 percent from the field and held the Lumberjacks to 38 percent shooting. WSU was also 9 of 18 from 3-point range and outrebounded NAU 28-27. NAU was just 4 of 12 from the free throw line.
Once again Koby McEwen led the 'Cats with 20 and tied a season-high with five 3-pointers. He also had three rebounds and two steals.
Dillon Jones recorded his 16th double-double of the season, finishing with 17 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Dontay Bassett and Dillon Jones each added nine points and Seikou Sisoho Jawara had eight points.
Senior Michal Kozak played 15 minutes in the game and set a school record in the process. It was his 133rd career game at Weber State, now the most games played in WSU history.
"We had good energy today and I thought our guys responded really well and came out and played well on both ends of the floor," said WSU head coach Randy Rahe. "We were efficient and patient on offense and made the defense work had. Koby McEwen was in a good rhythm and played well."
WSU has now reached 20 or more wins in eight of the 16 seasons under coach Rahe.

Weber State has just one game left in the regular season. The Wildcats will host Southern Utah on Saturday, March 5 at 6 p.m. It will be the final home game of the season and the final conference game against Southern Utah.
WSU will also honor Wildcat and NBA coaching legend Dick Motta at halftime of the game.
