Women's Tennis Defeats Eastern Washington, 6-1

Ogden, UT - The Weber State women's tennis team improved to 3-0 in Big Sky play as they defeated Eastern Washington 6-1 this Sunday afternoon at the Ogden Athletic Club.Â
The first match of the day started with doubles play, where the 'Cats took the doubles point after winning on courts 2 and 1. Megan Davies and Sicely Ferreira were the first to finish, defeating their opponents 6-3 on court 1. Shortly following the first victory, Ana Morett and Patty Kuo downed the Eagles duo 6-4 on court two. On court 3, Megan Lombardi and Yuuna Ukita also earned the win 7-5.Â
The 'Cats then moved into singles matches, where they faced some tough competition. The Eagles earned their sole point of the day finishing first at No. 2 singles. The Wildcats earned victories on the remaining 5 courts giving Weber the 6-1 win.
"We played solid tennis today against Eastern Washington. They made us work hard and we responded well," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
Up Next: The Wildcats hit the road as they head to Montana for a pair of matches on Saturday and Sunday. Weber will face Montana on Saturday before playing Montana State on Sunday.
