Wildcats Fall To UM, 4-3

Missoula, MT - The Weber State men's tennis team took a close 4-3 loss this Saturday afternoon against Montana at the PEAK Racquet Club. The loss moves the 'Cats to 2-2 in Big Sky play and 6-11 overall.

"It was a very disappointing match today," said head coach Brad Ferreira. We started off really strong on the doubles and then gave away many good matches. The Griz are a good deep team and showed us that today."

Weber jumped out to an early advantage against the Griz by winning the doubles point but Montana took that lead as they won three straight singles matches early on at Nos. 4, 3, and 2. Weber battled against the Griz as Sebastian Buxman in the No. 1 spot defeated Ed Pudney, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Not far behind Jordan Coutinho defeated Milo Benn in the No. 6 spot, 6-4, 2-6, 1-0, (10-3).

The 'Cats take on Montana State Sunday, March 27 at 3 p.m. at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
