Lady 'Cats Blanked At University Of Denver

Denver, CO - The Weber State women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 defeat this Friday afternoon at the Denver Tennis Park.

The Wildcats were unable to take any doubles set wins on the day. The Pioneers won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles 6-1 and 6-1 respectively. Megan Lombardi and Yuuna Ukita went unfinished in the No. 3 spot.

Moving into singles the Pioneers won on all 6 courts. The Wildcats fought hard through singles play but were unable to find any singles points.

"Denver was a strong team and it took us awhile to start competing," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.

"Megan Lombardi played a good single match and came up just short of a win. We head to California where we hope we can improve on the lessons we learned from out match today."

Up Next: Weber State plays their last road match of the weekend Sunday, Mar 6 against UC Irvine with the first serve set at 11 a.m.
