Men's Tennis Drops 4-2 To UC Irvine

Irvine, CA - The Weber State men's tennis team dropped a tightly-contested match to UC Irvine, 4-2, Tuesday morning at the Anteater Tennis Stadium.
"We lost a very close match to a team ranked 70 in the country," said head coach Brad Ferreira.Â
"This was the best effort we have had all year. Impressive performances all around today."
The 'Cats (4-10 overall) battled hard in doubles play but were unable to pull ahead as the 'Eaters took the early advantage.
Sebastian Buxman and Jordan Coutinho fell to the 'Eaters Matthew Sah and Lawee Sherif 7-5 and Bo-Han Li and Chia-Chieh Lin were defeated 7-6 (7-5).Â
Elyes Marouani and Bo-Han Li earned the 'Cats their two points of the day in No. 2 and 3 singles.Â
Bo-Han Li defeated Mike Mkrtchian 6-4, 6-4 and Elyes Marouani took the upper hand against Lawee Sherif 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.Â
Next Up: Weber State will be back in action Wednesday, Mar 9 against Azusa Pacific University. Â
