Weber State Earns 4-0 Triumph Over UC San Diego

La Jolla, CA - Weber State earned a 4-0 women's tennis victory over UC San Diego on Tuesday afternoon at the Northview Tennis Courts.
Starting strong, the Wildcats earned the doubles point. WSU's duo of Ana Morett and Patty Kuo picked up the first win 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. The 'Cats clinched the point when Sicely Ferreira and Megan Davies won 6-2 at No. 2. To complete the doubles sweep Yuuna Ukita and Megan Lombardi were victorious in the third position by a 5-4 (2-0) score.Â
When singles play began, WSU took a 1-0 lead in the match. The 'Cats went up 4-0 as Megan Davies was victorious at No. 2, 6-4, 6-2. Megan Lombardi earned the win 6-4, 6-2, and Patty Kuo 7-6 (3-0), 6-2. The remaining three matches went unfinished to make the final score 4-0 in favor of the Wildcats.Â
"We played a solid match at UCSD to wrap up our spring break trip," said head coach RuthAnn Allen.
"The team played smart and united. We are making good progress through out season and I am happy with where we are."
Up Next: Weber State will be back in action Sunday, Mar 20 for their third conference match against Eastern Washington.
