Wildcats drop first conference match 4-3 at Sacramento State

Weber State has two matches left in the regular season.
SACRAMENTO - The Weber State women's tennis team dropped its first Big Sky match as the Wildcats fell 4-3 to Sacramento State on Saturday.Â
The 'Cats lost all three doubles matches but picked up three wins in singles play.Â
Megan Davies won her match at the No. 1 singles position 6-4, 7-5. Ana Morett won 6-2, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles position and Yuuna Ukita won at No. 4, 6-0, 6-3.Â
The deciding match was the No. 6 singles match which went to three sets before Sacramento State's Grace McSkimming beat Megan Lombardi 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.
"We had a tough battle today with Sacramento State. We came up short but fought hard," said WSU head coach RuthAnn Allen. "Sacramento State had good determination and played well. We need to work hard this week to prepare for our final two conference matches."
Weber State is still on top of the league standings at 5-1 in conference play.Â
The Wildcats have two matches remaining in the regular season. Weber State will host Idaho on Friday in the final home match of the season. The 'Cats will then take on Idaho State on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Pocatello.Â
The Big Sky Championships will be held April 28-30 in Phoenix, Arizona.Â
