Wildcats Fall 0-1 In Conference Opener Against The Vandals

Weber State sits at 0-1 in conference play and 1-8 overall
Ogden, UT - The Weber State Women's soccer team opened Big Sky play against the University of Idaho Vandals on Thursday night at the Wildcat Soccer Field. The Wildcats were looking to start conference play on the right foot and stop their three-game losing skid.
Things were looking great for the Wildcats early, as they had multiple chances at goal in the opening 15 minutes of play. Weber State controlled possession for much of the first half, but despite outshooting the Vandals 8-6, the 'Cats gave up the lone goal of the game in the 23rd minute off of an opportunistic rebound goal by Savannah Foster.
The second half saw the 'Cats turn up the pressure even more and had the Vandals struggling to protect their goal. The Wildcats ended the half with a 10-2 shot advantage, but just could not find the net.
"Sometimes you play poorly and get a win, sometimes you play well and get a loss. Today was one of those nights. I thought we played well. We did everything that we wanted to do. We were organized, but they took their one chance which is credit to them. We had a number of chances and didn't capitalize and ended with a 1-0 loss" said head coach Craig Sanders.
