Weber State is 0-2 in Big Sky play and 1-9 overall
Cheney, WA – Eastern Washington scored three first-half goals and despite a stronger second half for Weber State, the Wildcats could not recover in a 1-3 loss to the Eagles.
Weber State opened up the game on Eastern Washington's territory with quick and decisive passes but eventually, the Eagles began to fend them off as the pace of the game became more comfortable for them. The Eagles were able to find their first goal of the game in the 13th minute with a shot to the lower left corner of the net. Shortly after, Eastern Washington's Maddie Morgan put the Eagles up by two when she scored in the 19th minute. The Eagles secured their third and final goal of the match in the 38th minute. Throughout the rest of the opening half, the Wildcats were not able to create anything of concern for the opposing keeper, and that 0-3 lead from EWU would hold as they headed into halftime.
In the second half, Morgan Furmaniak found the back of the net off of a header assisted by Olivia Tucker in the 57th minute. The 'Cats strong defense throughout the second half kept the Eagles from scoring another goal. Weber State recorded 17 shots to Eastern Washington's 11, seven of those on goal for the Wildcats and four for the Eagles.
