What an ending! Wildcats win in Montana on last second 3-pointer

Steven Verplancken made a 3-pointer with one second left. Dillon Jones had 17 points, a career-high 21 rebounds and made five 3-pointers.
MISSOULA, Mont. - Dyson Koehler stole an inbound pass and Steven Verplancken knocked down a 3-pointer with one second left to give Weber State a 59-57 win at Montana Thursday night. 
The Wildcats improved to 3-1 in Big Sky play and won in Missoula for the second time in the last three games.Â
Dillon Jones had a career night to lead the Wildcats as he finished with 17 points and grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds. The 21 rebounds is the most by a Wildcat in nearly seven years since Joel Bolomboy had 23 rebounds in February 2016. Jones also moved into the top 10 in WSU career history with 654 rebounds.Â
Jones also tied his career-high with five 3-pointers, led Weber State with three assists and played all 40 minutes.Â
The game saw 12 lead changes and 10 ties. The Wildcats jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead before a 16-2 run by Montana. WSU came back with an 8-0 run and took a 28-25 lead at halftime after Jones hit a 3-pointer to end the half.Â
Weber State took a six-point lead at 45-39 with 8:28 to play before a 13-4 Montana run gave the Grizzlies a 52-49 lead with four minutes left.Â
Montana shot 40 percent from the field, compared to 39 percent for Weber State. The Wildcats were 8 of 19 from 3-point range and thanks to 21 rebounds by Jones, outrebounded the Grizzlies 35-28.Â
Verplancken added 12 points with two 3-pointers and Alex Tew had 10 points and seven rebounds.Â
