Despain Family Establishes Endowment for Weber State Men's Golf

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State athletics is pleased to announce the establishment of an endowment by Rob and Pam Despain in support of the WSU men's golf program. The generous support of the Despain family through the endowment will create opportunities for young student-athletes for years to come.
Rob Despain is a Weber State graduate, who was a part of the Wildcat men's golf program that won consecutive Big Sky Conference Championship titles from 1978 to 1981. He finished in the top-10 at the conference tournament in his junior and senior seasons, with a 10th place in 1980 and a third place in 1981.
Pam Despain also attended Weber State, graduating from the College of Education in 1980.
The pair's son, Nick Despain, also was a member of the Weber State men's golf program, competing from 2008 to 2011. In his senior season, Nick earned individual medalist honors at the America Sky Men's Golf Conference championships while leading the Wildcats to the league title in 2011 at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz. He was also named Academic All-American his final two seasons with the Wildcats.
