Strong Singles Play Lifts Weber Over Montana

Ogden, UT – Weber State women's tennis put together a good performance this morning at the Ogden Athletic Club, defeating Montana 5-2.
The 'Cats struggled to start the match, dropping the doubles point to the Griz. Wildcat duo Megan Lombardi and Dylan Lolofie took care of business on court two with a 6-3 win, but losses on courts one and three gave the Griz a 1-0 lead.
Weber State found its footing in singles play with good performances put up by all six players.
Montana earned the first singles point on court four when Lauren Dunlap took the upper hand against Kenadee Semenik 6-4, 6-2 giving the Griz a two-point lead.
However, quick sweeps from Ana Morett (6-3, 6-2) and Megan Lombardi (6-4, 6-4) tied up the match. On court two, Megan Davies took control of her match 6-2, 6-4 over Olivia Oosterbaan awarding the 'Cats a one-point lead.
Clinching the match for the Wildcats, Li Yang (Cindy) Ping An won against Maria Goheen 6-1, 6-0. Ending the match for the 'Cats Dylan Lolofie battled on court six, earning the victory 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 and awarding Weber State with the 5-2 win.
