Men’s Tennis Takes Down Sacramento State, 4-3

Ogden, UT – The Weber State men's tennis squad secured a hard-fought 4-3 victory against the Sacramento State Hornets this Wednesday afternoon at the Ogden Athletic Club. The win improves the 'Cats 3-0 in conference play.
The 'Cats struggled to start the match, dropping the doubles point to the Hornets. Losses on courts one and three gave Sacramento a quick 1-0 lead.
The Hornets increased their lead by two as Rudolfs Aksenoks took the first singles point on the day. However, Weber State found its footing in singles play. Earning the 'Cats their first point was Elyes Marouani, he took the upper hand against Jan Silva 6-4, 7-6 (4). Shortly after, the Hornet's Mark Keki defeated Sebastian Buxman putting Sacramento State ahead again by two.
Wildcat Tristan Sarap won in three sets 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 and Connor Kruger defeated Adam Chodur 7-5, 7-6 (6) tying the match 3-3. The deciding point came on court five, where William Zulch battled against Ori Maior. Zulch went head-to-head in a three-set match winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-4, and securing the victory for the Wildcats.
