Brendan Thomas Named Big Sky Golfer of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah – Weber State's Brendan Thomas has been named the Big Sky Conference Men's Golfer of the Week as the league released its weekly honors on Wednesday.
Thomas helped lead the Wildcats to the team title at Houston Christian University's Colin Montgomerie Invitational, shooting a 9-under par 207 to finish in a tie for fourth place.
The junior from Farmington, Utah opened play with back-to-back rounds of 2-under par 70 on Monday to sit in a tie for 11th place overnight. He then shot his best score as a Wildcat on Tuesday with seven birdies against a pair of bogeys for a 5-under par 67 to move into the tie for fourth place.
Thomas carded six birdies in his opening round 70 and added another four in Monday's second round, giving him a total of 17 for the event. His final round started with three birdies over his first four holes, and he carded five total on the front nine alone to go out in 4-under 32 on the day.
This is the first Big Sky weekly honor for the transfer from Eastern Wyoming College.
