Big second half lifts Weber State past Idaho 88-65

Wildcats outscored the Vandals 53-30 in the second half. Career-highs for Blaise Threatt and Dyson Koehler in the win

OGDEN - Weber State overcame a slow start and got back on the winning track with an 88-65 win over Idaho Saturday night at the Dee Events Center.  

Idaho jumped out to an 18-6 lead eight minutes into the game Weber State later bounced back with a 10-0 run and regained the lead at 28-26. 

The game was tied 35-35 at halftime before a dominating second half by the Wildcats as they outscore Vandals 53-30 in the second half. 

WSU had a 17-4 run and led 70-55, and later led by as many as 25 points. WSU scored 40 points in the final 12 minutes of the game. 

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Weber State who is now 12-7 overall and 3-3 in Big Sky play. 

Weber State ended the game shooting 50 percent, including 53 percent in the second half. The Wildcats knocked down 10 3-pointers and outrebounded Idaho 37-21. WSU was also 22 of 25 from the free throw line. 

Four Wildcats scored in double figures and two had WSU career-highs. 

Blaise Threatt had a Weber State and Division I career-high as he finished with a game-high 24 points. He made three 3-pointers and also had five reboudns and two assists. 

Dyson Koehler had a career-high 23 points on 7 of 10 shootoing, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. 

Steven Verplancken added 14 points and made four 3-pointers. 

Dillon Jones had his 12th double-double of the season and the 50th double-double of his career as he finished with 14 points and had 11 rebounds. He also dished out eight assists and was 10 of 10 from the free throw line. 

Jones also made history as he became Weber State's all-time leader in career steals, now with 180. He had two steals and moved past Eddie Gill as WSU's all-time leader. 

Gill was in attendance at the game as Weber State celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the 1999 Wildcat team that won the Big Sky Tournament and beat North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament. Harold "The Show" Arceneaux was also in attendance along with other former players, including Eric Ketcham, Andy Jensen, Shawn Moore, Joey Haws, and Freddie Dawson. 

Weber State has a quick turnaround and hits the road for a game at Montana Monday night in Missoula.
