Men’s Tennis Wins UNLV Quad With 4-1 Win Over Hawaii

Las Vegas, NV — The Weber State men's tennis team capped off a perfect 4-0 record this weekend with a 4-1 victory over Hawaii to clinch the UNLV Tournament title.
The Wildcats clinched the doubles point from the No. 2 and No. 3 slots with the play of duos William Zulch/Jordan Coutinho and Matteo Savio/Tuan (Ken) Minh. Zulch and Coutinho made quick work of their opponents taking the victory 6-3 before Savio and Minh took the doubles point with a 7-5 win.
In singles play, Jordan Coutinho continues to be a flamethrower as he moved to 6-0 in singles matches this year with a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 4 position. Elyes Marouani caught fire as well, winning his match 7-5, 6-3 and going 3-0 on the weekend in his singles play. The final singles point earned came via the racket of Tristan Sarap who took the victory in his match in two sets by scores of 6-2, 6-1.
The 'Cats have now won 4 in a row including a thriller over tournament host UNLV on Saturday taking that match by a score of 4-3.
The team will finally make their way back home this upcoming Wednesday morning and play host to the University of Nebraska at Omaha at 11:30am at the Ogden Athletic Club.
