Wildcats Wrap Fall Season with Third Place Finish

ST. GEORGE, Utah – For the second consecutive week, Matthew Wilson and Ty Anderson posted top-10 finishes, this time leading the Weber State men's golf team to a third place finish at the Utah Collegiate Shootout at Sunbrook Golf Club.
The Wildcats posted rounds of 282 and 288 to finish with a 6-under par total of 570. Utah Valley shot 544 to win the event, while Utah State came in second at 558. Southern Utah rounded out the field with a 599 in fourth place.
Wilson shot rounds of 69 and 70 for a 5-under par total of 139 to tie for sixth place overall. He posted 10 birdies over his two rounds and added an eagle on the 281-yard par-4 14th hole in his opening round.
Anderson tied for ninth place with a 3-under par total of 141 behind rounds of 69 and 72. He carded six birdies, including four in his opening round 69.
Luke Smith recorded rounds of 69 and 75 to finish in a tie for 13th place at even-par 144. His day included three birdies and he added first round eagles on the 504-yard, par-5 11th hole and, like Wilson, on the par-4 14th.
Bobby Kincaid came in tied for 16th place with rounds of 75 and 71 for a 2-over par 146 and carded eight birdies on the day.
Cormack Goecke finished in 19th place with a 6-over par 150 on consecutive rounds of 75, while posting nine birdies on the day.
Utah Valley's Dane Huddleston shot rounds of 64 and 68 for a 12-under par total of 132 to take medalist honors.
The single-day tournament wraps up the 2024 fall season for the Wildcats, who will be off until the spring season kicks off in February.
