Gutierrez, Wildcats End Fall Season with Second Place Finishes

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Weber State women's golf team wrapped up the 2024 fall season with a strong performance on Tuesday to finish in second place at the PSU Invitational at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.
The Wildcats were led by Isabel Gutierrez, who shot rounds of 72, 73 and 68 for a 3-under par total of 213 to finish in second place on the individual leaderboard, coming in runner-up to medalist Rivekka Jumagulova of Seattle, who shot 4-under par. Gutierrez posted four birdies and went bogey-free over her final 18 holes to secure the second place finish.
Jumagulova led Seattle to the team championship as the Redhawks shot a three-round total of 890 to finish seven shots ahead of Weber State at 897. The Wildcats opened the tournament with a score of 301 on Monday morning and shot back-to-back rounds of 298 across Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Montana State came in third at 899.
The Wildcats beat a field of six other Big Sky Conference programs over the tournament, while also besting in-state rivals Utah Valley and Southern Utah.
Jade Gruher bounced back from rounds of 75 and 79 on Monday with a final-round 73 to move into the top-15 with a tie for 15th place at 11-over par 227, while Cala Korman shot 76-73-79 for a 12-over par 228 to tie for 18th, giving the Wildcats three players in the top-20.
Sofia Fuenmayor shot 78-73-78 to tie for 24th place at 229 and Emily Song tied for 42nd overall with a total of 238.
Emma Lillywhite played as an individual for Weber State and shot 239, including a second round 73 to tie for 44th place.
