Peter Visser punches ticket to NCAA Championships

Following his dominating performance at the NCAA Mountain Regionals, Peter Visser has qualified for the NCAA Championships on November 23 in Madison, Wisconsin at 10:10 am CST (9:10 am MT).

"Pete has had an incredible season," head coach Corbin Talley said. "He's been very focused on the process and on learning from each race."

Visser finished the 10K course in 15th with a time of 29:39.8.

"He definitely ran like a veteran yesterday. He stayed calm and patient and controlled through the first half of the race and then steadily moved up through the field over the second half to secure his spot" Talley said. "Peter was in 31st at the 5K, and moved up every kilometer after that to finish 15th."

Visser has now qualified for the NCAA Championships in back-to-back years and is only the fourth Wildcat in team history to qualify twice.

"I'm really proud of the effort that he puts into obtaining his goals and in his leadership along the way," Talley said. "We're excited to have him represent the squad at Nationals next week."
