Weber State will send athletes to the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Oregon and the CSI Invitational in Idaho as the Wildcats continue their 2026 season
The Weber State men's and women's cross country teams will split their squads Friday, with Wildcats competing at both the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Oregon, and the CSI Invitational in Twin Falls, Idaho.
The Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon, will take place at Pine Ridge Golf Club and features an 8,000-meter men's race at 11:15 a.m. MT followed by the women's 6K at noon MT.
The remaining Wildcats will compete at the Dr. Thad Scholes XC Classic, hosted by the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. Both the men's and women's races are scheduled for Friday.
The split-squad weekend gives Weber State another opportunity to test its depth and continue building toward the championship portion of the season.
The Wildcats enter Friday's competition after strong performances at last week's Idaho State Invitational. On the women's side, Elin Hagelin led Weber State with a second-place finish in 18:11, while Sandra Aberg placed fourth and Elayna Loveridge finished seventh. Maggie Featherstone and Charlotte Wilkinson rounded out the Wildcats' top five, with seven Weber State runners finishing inside the top 16.
The men's team also turned in a strong pack performance in Pocatello, led by Carson Day's 11th-place finish in 25:36. Colby Jenks finished 12th, Tanner Rogers placed 14th, Caden Timm finished 17th and Logan Marek took 23rd, with the Wildcats' top four runners finishing within 26 seconds of one another.
Friday's meets will provide another opportunity for Weber State's athletes to compete against different fields and continue developing as the season moves toward the Big Sky Championships.
Following Friday's competition, Weber State will have one final stretch of preparation before the Big Sky Championships on Oct. 30 in Flagstaff, Arizona.
