Wildcats take seventh at Big Sky Indoor Championships

The Weber State women's track and field team finished seventh overall at the 2024 Big Sky Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at the Podium in Spokane, Washington.

Weber State totaled 43 points to finish seventh, five points behind sixth place.

"We had some very good performances," head coach Paul Pilkington said. "It's a young team, only one senior."

The Wildcats had four All-Big Sky performances at the meet and had multiple athletes post personal and seasonal bests.

The Wildcats scored 14 points in the shot put. Kapua Pulotu finished second in the event with a PR of 49-02.25 and moved into fourth on Weber State's all-time list.
Dawson Rothenbuhler finished third with a mark of 47-06.50.

Hannah Bailey, Eliza Smith, Sandra Aberg and Saga Hagelin finished third in the distance medley with a time of 11:44.27, securing the second best finish on the all-time list.

Abby Triplett hit a PR of 5-06.00 in the high jump for a third place finish.

Elizabeth Littlewood recorded a fourth place finish in the pentathlon with 3,640 points, Kate Tueller finished seventh with 3,522 points and Sarena Mackley finished eighth with 3,474 points.

Angelyca Chapman, Payge Walz, Jasmine Devers and Makayla Oliver hit a season best in the 4x400 with a mark of 3:48.50.

Walz hit a PR in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.53 seconds, improving her time on the All-Time list at fifth place.

Laurie Murphy finished in 8th place in the 5000 meter with a time of 17:11.92.

Oliver recorded an 8th place finish in the long jump with a mark of 18-02.25.

Danielle Brow hit a season best in the 3000 with a time of 10:11.87 and Frances Hudson hit PR of 10:12.06.

The 'Cats will be back in action kicking off the outdoor track and field season at the Utah Tech Invite on March 22.
