Men’s Tennis Falls In Conference Opener

Sacramento, CA — The Weber State men's tennis team was defeated on the road Sunday night in their conference opener against Sacramento State 7-0

The Wildcats had hard fought matches all day with four of the six singles matches going into the third set and two of them needing an additional tiebreaker to determine the winner. In the end however, the 'Cats were unable to secure a point in singles play with Sacramento State sweeping the competition

In doubles, the combination of Matteo Savio and Tuan (Ken) Minh were able to take their match 7-5 but it was ultimately not enough to secure the doubles point for the team.

This was the first match for the team on a California road trip that began with a match that was canceled against Jessup on Saturday and this match was delayed 6 hours and moved inside due to weather in the area. The 'Cats will finally play a match on schedule Monday morning against San Francisco before closing the trip with a match against Pacific.
