Wildcats drop two games Friday to the Bears

Greeley, CO - The Weber State softball team fell to the Northern Colorado Bears 9-1 and 3-2 on Friday at the Gloria Rodriguez Field. The losses have dropped the Wildcats 5-3 in Big Sky play.

Game One - Weber State: 1 Northern Colorado: 9

Weber State struggled in the first game of the weekend series against the Northern Colorado Bears, dropping the game 9-1.
The 'Cats lone run came in the fourth inning after Eva Richardson stole home.
Brooke Hatfield took the loss, falling 2-4 on the season.

Game Two - Weber State: 2 Northern Colorado 3

After a tough first game against the Bears, Weber State was looking for a win in game two.
The Wildcats held the early advantage 2-0 after a Richardson single brought home Kiaira Smith and a Mia Rushton single allowed Makayla Donahoo to find home plate.
Unfortunately, the advantage was short-lived as the Bears came back with two runs in the third and one in the fourth.
Leading with the one-run advantage, the Wildcat offense could not put anything together and the game ended 3-2 in favor of the Bears.
Cali McCraw fell 5-2 with the loss.
Olivia Birkinshaw went 3-for-4 at the plate and Kiaira Smith totaled one run and finished the game going 2-for-4 at the plate.

COMING UP
The Wildcats return to the diamond on April 13 for a single game to close out the weekend series against the Bears. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
