Wildcats Drop Match To Bengals

Pocatello, ID — The men's tennis team dropped a match this afternoon falling to Idaho State 5-2 on the road in Pocatello.

The Wildcats dropped the doubles point to the Bengals losing all three matches. Tristan Sarap and Elyes Marouani fell on court one 6-2, Jordan Coutinho and Connor Kruger came up short 6-4, and Matteo Savio and Tuan (Ken) Minh lost their match on court three 6-4.

The 'Cats started off hot in singles play as Tristan Sarap and Elyes Marouani won their matches on courts one and two giving the Wildcats their two team points on the afternoon. Sarap took his match 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 and Marouani won 7-6 (7-3) 6-2. These were the only two team points that the 'Cats were able to manage on the day as they dropped the remaining singles matches.

Next up for the Wildcats is the final home game and senior day next Saturday April 20th in Ogden, Utah. For now the match will take place at the Ogden Athletic Club however, weather permitting, the hope is that the match will take place at the outdoor courts located on the Weber State campus. Eastern Washington comes into the match on Saturday winless on their season and riding a 14 game losing streak. The 'Cats will look to get a win in their final game and carry the momentum into the Big Sky Tennis Tournament in Phoenix April 25-27th.
