Wildcats Finish Third at Big Sky Championships for Third-Straight Year

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Weber State women's golf team shot a final round 287 on Wednesday in the final round of the Big Sky Conference Championships at Wigwam Golf Club to finish third in the league tournament for the third-straight season.
The 'Cats posted one of the best rounds of the day among the 10-team field, and WSU's best score of the championship, but dropped one spot as Northern Arizona made a strong late surge to shoot a 6-under par 278 on the day to move to second.
Sacramento State won the league title, shooting a 2-under par total of 850 for the championship and finishing 10 shots ahead of the Lumberjacks.
Weber State opened the tournament with rounds of 288 and 294 and finished with a 17-over par total of 869.
The Wildcats were led by Emily Song and Isabel Gutierrez, who each posted top-five finishes.
Song closed her tournament with four birdies on the day in a 2-under par 69. After opening the tournament with rounds of 71 and 72, she posted a 54-hole total of 1-under par 212 to finish third overall.
Gutierrez finished one shot back of Song, tying for fourth at even-par 213. Isabel opened the tournament with rounds of 70 and 72, and closed with six birdies in an even par 71.
The top-four finishes by Song and Gutierrez places both players on the Big Sky Conference All-Tournament team.
Jessica Zelasko shot rounds of 72, 75 and 73 to finish 18th, giving the Wildcats a trio of players inside the top-20.
Sofia Fuenmayor posted scores of 77, 75 and 74 to tie for 30th at 13-over par 226, while Jade Gruher finished 37th at 14-over par 227 behind rounds of 75, 75 and 77.
