Weber State Duo Earns All-Big Sky Conference Honors

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Big Sky Conference office has released its 2023-24 Men's Golf All-Conference Team and individual award winners in conjunction with its Championship Tournament at The Wigwam and Weber State had two players honored.

Hayden Banz and Brendan Thomas, both seniors on this year's Weber State men's golf team, both were named All-Big Sky Conference Honorable Mention.

Banz entered this week's conference tournament with a 72.20 stroke average across seven tournaments. He has had a very consistent season, finishing outside the top-25 at only one tournament this season. He has posted four top-20's, including a season-best tie for ninth place at the Cowboy Classic. Hayden recorded a 7-under par 209 at the Cowboy Classic on rounds of 69, 69 and 71. He has posted 11 rounds of even-par or better this year, including four rounds in the 60's.

Thomas posted a 73.45 stroke average this season over seven tournaments. He posted a pair of top-20 finishes, including a season-best fifth place finish at the Falcon Invitational in September, where he posted rounds of 69, 70 and 72 for a 5-under par 211. He has carded nine rounds of even-par or better.

The awards celebrate the regular season accomplishments of the competitors, and this year were decided by national rankings.
