Wildcats Top Bobcats to Close Out Road Trip

Bozeman, MT — The Wildcat men's tennis team closed out their road trip to Montana with a 4-3 victory over the Bobcats in Bozeman.

"We struggled in the first set of each match but made some good adjustments. Ken came through again for us to clinch the match." Head coach Brad Ferreira states.

In doubles, the Wildcats and the Bobcats split the first two matches leaving the doubles point in the hands of Matteo Savio and Tuan (Ken) Minh. The duo was able to pull out the point with a clutch 7-5 decision. This point would come back to be incredibly crucial in determining the winner of the match up.

The Wildcats got off to a very slow start in singles play as they lost in the first set of every singles match on the day. Adjustments were made and Connor Kruger, Tristan Sarap, and Tuan Minh were able to come back and clinch the three singles wins the 'Cats needed in order to clinch the match. Minh came through in the clutch yet again as we once again clinched the match in the third set of this singles match up. It is the second time in three matches he has been able to do this after he clinched the match against Northern Arizona in the same fashion last Sunday afternoon.

The team will head back from Montana before they hit the road again to head up north to Pocatello, Idaho to take on the Idaho State Bengals at Reed Gym. The Bengals come into the match with a record of 11-9 (3-3) and currently sit in the middle of the road in the Big Sky standings as they currently sit 5th out of 9 total teams.
