Blair won the bronze in the discus at the Paralympics in Paris, his second career Paralympic medal.

Weber State track and field alum David Blair has made history again. Blair earned his second medal by winning the bronze in the discus F64 final at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.

Blair posted a mark of 57.76 meters (189-05 feet) to claim the bronze medal last week in Paris.

It was his third Olympics and his second medal.

He won the gold medal in the discus at the 2016 Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. In winning the gold that year, he set a new record of 64.11 meters (210-04 feet) in the discus. He finished fourth in 2021 in Tokyo to just miss the podium.

Blair was born in Ogden with a misshapen foot commonly known as a clubfoot. He attended Davis High School and then Weber State in the fall of 1993. By the time he graduated, he had set six school records in hammer, discus, and indoor weight, while competing in varsity athletics. The distances Blair threw at WSU would have broken world records at the time, but he didn't become aware of that fact until years later.

In a video from the Paralympics, posted by the NCAA, Blair said, "Big shoutout to Weber State Wildcats. A lot of people don't know that Weber State was one of the first Division I universities in the country that took a chance on offering a scholarship to a paralympic athlete. Thanks for taking a chance on me. I've now got a couple of medals representing Team USA and Weber State. Great. Great. Great."
