Men's Country Sweeps Idaho State Invitational

Wildcat Cross Country swept the Idaho State Invitational with a first place finish and a team score of 15 points on September 20 at Riverside Golf Course on a 8K course.

"It was great to get an opportunity to race on the course that we will see in six weeks at the conference championships," head coach Corbin Talley said. "It was a beautiful day, and the guys put out some solid efforts."

Weber State had eight athletes finish the race in the top ten finishes.

Peter Visser led the race with their second consecutive first place finish at 23:37.7, Taylor Knight finished second 23:46.3, Tanner Rogers recorded a third pace finished at 23:46.8, Wesley Kallgren finished fourth at 23:56.6 and Hanokh Gailson finished fifth 23:58.1.

"It was a great race for Peter, he ran controlled and smooth throughout," Talley said. "And I was super stoked about Taylor and Tanner. They both bounced back very well after a rough start a few weeks ago."

Ty Davis finished sixth with a time of 24:01.7, Evan Harris finished eighth at 24:11.4 and Alex Harbertson finished ninth at 24:15.0.

Tj Warnick recorded a 12th place finish at 24:31.7, Owen Rogers finished 14th at 24:34.4, Bryce Anderson recorded a 15th place finish with a time of 24:56.6, Will Luoma finished 16th at 24:56.8 and Nathaniel Garner rounded out the top 20 finishers at 25:07.3

Carson Day finished 24th at 25:28.3 and Joe Corbridge finished 32 at 26:30.8.

The 'Cats will hit the road to compete at the Gans Creek Invitational in Columbia, MO on September 27.
