Weber State cross country recorded a 12th place team finish at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, MO. The team totaled 334 points.Â
"We were hoping for a better finish than 12th, but we had some great individual performances and we gained some valuable experience that will help us as the season progresses," head coach Corbin Talley said.Â
Peter Visser led the squad with a 25th place finish at 23:42.6 and Wesley Kallgren was close behind 29th at 23:54.4.Â
"Peter had another big race up front for us with 25th place. He was only one second off his all-time best for 8k," Talley said. "Wesley showed up big and had a great race to finish top 30 and claim his first ever sub 24:00 for an 8k."Â
Ty Davis finished 73rd with a time of 24:25.6, Hanokh Gailson recorded a 108th place finish at 24:40.4, Evan Harris finished 115th with a time of 24:42.7, Tanner Rogers finished 131st at 24:47.7, Owen Rogers finished 157th with a time 25:02.1 and Taylor Knight finished 217th at 25:32.8
"We're walking away from this one a little disappointed overall, but with some deep determination and desire to race better in the coming weeks," Talley said. "It's an outstanding group of young men, and their hard work is going to pay off."Â
The 'Cats will stay in state and compete at the Utah State Invitational on October 11 in Logan, UT.Â
