Wildcats Tied for 10th After Falcon Invite Day One

USAFA, Colo. -- Weber State shot an opening round 299 to grab a tie for 10th place as the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational opened play on Saturday at the Eisenhower Golf Club Blue Course.
Colorado State opened with a 286 to take the first round lead in the 22-team field. Utah State is four shots back in second place, with San Jose State in third at 291.
Luke Smith led the 'Cats on the day, carding four birdies en route to a 1-over par 73 for the day to sit in a tie for 18th place, while Matthew Wilson recorded a trio of birdies in a 2-over par 74 and is tied for 26th overall.
Bobby Kincaid shot a 76 to tie for 48th after one round, while Ty Anderson and Cormack Goecke are each tied for 48th place after both shot 4-over par 76's.
Colorado State's Matthew Wilkinson posted six birdies and an eagle en route to a 7-under par 65 to grab the 18-hole individual lead.
The teams will be back to Eisenhower Golf Club Sunday morning for the tournament's second round.
