Men’s Tennis picked third in Big Sky preseason poll

OGDEN, Utah — The Weber state men's tennis team was selected third in the Big Sky preseason poll. The Wildcats also received one first place vote in the poll.
Northern Arizona was selected to finish first receiving six first place votes with Montana selected second finishing two points ahead of Weber State.
The 'Cats finished the 2024 season with a 10-13 record going 5-3 in conference play. The Wildcats were eliminated in the second round of the Big Sky Conference tournament by the #1 seeded Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
Head Coach Brad Ferreira returns for his 13th year at the helm of the program. Ferreira has a career record of 120-134 in his time with the program with a 68-35 mark in conference play.
The roster boasts five returning starters to this year's team. Seniors Jordan Coutinho and Tristan Sarap lead the returners alongside juniors William Zulch and Connor Kruger. Tuan (Ken) Minh also returns to the program for his sophomore season after taking home two Big Sky Conference Player of the Week awards last season.
Newcomers Franco Quijano, Theo Mottier and Liam Day will provide key contributions as the Wildcats look to take home their first Big Sky Conference championship since 2016.
Men's Tennis opens their season Friday Jan. 17 against BYU in Provo. The home opener for the 'Cats will take place Feb. 14 against San Diego State at the Ogden Athletic Club.
