Wildcats lose season opener to Cougars

Provo, Utah — The Weber State Men's Tennis team lost their season opener 6-1 to the BYU Cougars in Provo, Utah.

In doubles play, the #1 duo of Ken Minh and Connor Kruger made the match competitive before ultimately falling by a score of 7-6. This was the closet the 'Cats would get to taking a doubles match as they dropped the #2 and #3 matches by a score of 6-4.

In singles, Tristan Sarap was able to secure the Wildcats only team point of the night as he won the match in the #1 slot by a score of 7-6 (7-3), 6-3. Connor Kruger was able to push the first set of his match into tiebreakers before coming up short 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 in two sets.

The 'Cats move the road trip from south to north as they will travel to take on the Utah State Aggies in Logan, Utah on Sunday afternoon. The match begins at noon and live stats and streaming can be found at weberstatesports.com.
