FARMINGTON, Utah – The Weber State women's golf team was picked fourth in the Big Sky Conference for the spring 2025 season as the league announced the results of its Coaches' Poll on Thursday.

Sacramento State finished atop the poll as unanimous favorites, receiving nine first-place votes. Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own team. Northern Arizona, who finished second in the voting, received the other available first-place vote.

The Hornets had an impressive fall campaign, which included a third place finish at the Evie Odom Invitational and a fourth place finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic.

Sacramento State has won four of the previous five available Big Sky titles, claiming the team crown in 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024. Northern Arizona broke up the dynasty with a team title in 2022.

At the 2024 championship the Hornets cleared the field by 14 strokes, shooting a 2-under 850 (282, 282, 286) as a team. That 54-hole total marked the lowest in Big Sky tournament history.

Sacramento State's roster features a lot of veteran leadership, including 2023-24 Big Sky Player of the Year Sneha Sharan and 2023 individual champion Caitlin Maurice.

Tabbed second, Northern Arizona features the league's defending individual champion in Lizzie Neale, who had the lowest 54-hole individual score of 203 (-10) at the 2024 championships.

Montana State has been projected to finish third, while Weber State was voted fourth. In a close vote, Idaho was tabbed fifth and Northern Colorado in sixth.

The Wildcats posted a pair of runner-up finishes to highlight the fall season, coming in second at the Kelsey Chugg Invitational at the Wolf Creek Resort and at the Portland State Invitational at Columbia Edgewater Country Club.

Weber State was led in the fall by senior Isabel Gutierrez, who posted a 73.00 stroke average. The regular starting lineup also featured juniors Sofia Fuenmayor and Emily Song and sophomores Cala Korman and Jade Gruher.

The 2025 Big Sky Conference Women's Golf Championship will take place at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Arizona from April 14-16.
